FAQs

General

Persistence is a Tendermint-based, specialised Layer-1 network powering an ecosystem of DeFi applications focused on unlocking the liquidity of staked assets through liquid staking. Persistence facilitates the issuance and deployment of liquid-staked stkASSETs, allowing users to earn staking rewards while participating in DeFi primitives, such as lending/borrowing and liquidity provisioning on DEXs.

Persistence aims to offer a seamless staking and DeFi experience for PoS (Proof-of-Stake) users and enable developers to build innovative applications around stkASSETs.

The broader vision of Persistence is to become the liquid staking hub of the PoS space, making liquid staked stkASSETs the default assets of the staking economy.

$XPRT Token

Token Launch Date: 1 April 2021

$XPRT is the work token for the Persistence ecosystem, bootstrapping ecosystem applications to propel network adoption and securing the core infrastructure through staking. $XPRT stakers can participate in governance to contribute to the long-term success of the ecosystem.

$XPRT accrues value from the ecosystem’s financial activity through multiple avenues including gas fees, fee-sharing with ecosystem applications, hub-routing, etc.

Learn more here.

$XPRT is supported by a variety of wallets. These include:

♦️ Persistence native wallet: https://wallet.persistence.one/
♦️ Keplr: https://www.keplr.app/
♦️ Cosmostation: https://wallet.cosmostation.io/cosmos
♦️ Citadel: Citadel.one
♦️ Coin98: https://coin98.com/
♦️ Ledger: https://youtu.be/tLVUz3GJz98

Using any of the above wallets, you can hold, stake, and transfer your $XPRT tokens.

Staking

XPRT can be staked via the Persistence native wallet, or other supported wallets such as Keplr, Cosmostation etc.

Staking rewards for XPRT stakers currently stand at ~35% APY.

Fun fact: Persistence has one of the industry’s strongest bonded (staked) token ratios.

Liquid Staking

$XPRT holders can also stake via Persistence’s pSTAKE liquid staking protocol in order to be issued stkXPRT, which can be used in DeFi to generate additional yield while their underlying staked $XPRT is earning staking rewards.

The $XPRT token is built and available on the Persistence network and is IBC-enabled for interconnectivity across other interoperable applications within the Cosmos ecosystem.

100 million $XPRT were minted at genesis and are being released over time across 42 months – the token distribution is as such:

  • Marketing & Growth: 25.6% (25,600,000 $XPRT)
  • Ecosystem Development & Growth: 19.4% (19,400,000 $XPRT)
  • Team: 16% (16,000,000 $XPRT)

stkXPRT

stkXPRT is the liquid staked form of $XPRT – minted by staking $XPRT via pSTAKE and available on the Ethereum network.

stkXPRT holders can provide liquidity to the stkXPRT-ETH pool on SushiSwap to earn LP fees in addition to staking rewards.

Additional utilities for stkXPRT are in the works and will be announced soon.

Ecosystem

The Persistence ecosystem is comprised of a wide variety of dApps, wallets, DeFi platforms, tools, and more to help power its liquid-staked asset economy. All elements complement one another with various utilities for assets across Persistence.

The broader vision of Persistence ecosystem is to become the liquid staking hub of the PoS space, making liquid staked stkASSETs the default assets of the staking economy.

The Persistence ecosystem covers the whole liquid staking journey, and will encompass both the means for liquid staking (via pSTAKE) and the means to utilize the resulting liquid-staked assets in DeFi for additional yield (via Persistence ecosystem apps such as DEX, borrowing/lending protocol etc.)

Read more about Persistence’s vision and mission here.

AssetMantle and Comdex are both built (or partially built) using the Persistence SDK, and will both offer utility for Persistence’s stkASSETs.

AssetMantle users will be able to use stkASSETs for the buying and selling of NFTs on supported marketplaces, adding further stkASSET utility. Comdex users will have the ability to open collateralized debt positions (CDPs) against stkASSETs to mint cAssets (synthetic commodities), adding more utility to native pSTAKE assets.

Though not a dApp, AUDIT.one – Persistence’s validator arm – is another important element of Persistence’s liquid staking ecosystem.

Learn more about the broader ecosystem here.

pSTAKE is a core component of the Persistence ecosystem, serving as a liquid staking protocol that unlocks the liquidity of staked PoS assets (e.g. ATOM and ETH). PoS token holders can stake their tokens via the pSTAKE application to receive stkASSETs (tokens representing the staked assets) which can be traded or utilized in DeFi for additional yield.

Currently, pSTAKE issues ERC-20 liquid-staked representative tokens on the Ethereum network, with the aim of building a multi-chain protocol issuing liquid-staked representatives on multiple networks (including the IBC-enabled Persistence chain – due Q3/Q4 2022).

Yes, Persistence is welcoming developers looking to build use cases for liquid staked assets. The Persistence Grants Program provides builders with an opportunity to develop new and innovative products within the Persistence ecosystem.
