In September, we began the phased upgrade of the Persistence Core-1 Chain while rolling out several key developments. Throughout the month, we also hosted a series of campaigns to engage Persisters and onboard new members into the community.

September was another strong month for the Persistence ecosystem, packed with key updates and progress. A major highlight was the start of the planned, gradual upgrade to the Persistence Core-1 Chain, following the community’s approval of proposal 145.

This upgrade will transition the chain to Cosmos SDK v0.53.x, aligning Persistence Chain with the latest features and improvements in the SDK family. As part of this phased upgrade, we’re also preparing to integrate the Babylon SDK module to enable BSN integration.

September also saw the launch of the multi-swap feature on Persistence DEX, alongside an XPRT trading competition hosted by Cede Hub on KuCoin, which brought fresh energy to traders and community members.

Persistence One Highlights

  • In September, a popular trading platform, Cede Hub, partnered with KuCoin to relaunch the XPRT trading competition, which ran through mid-month and drew strong interest from both new and existing traders, as well as Persisters.

  • The start of the month brought excitement from the users, and a series of weekly quest campaigns was kick-started to let them engage with the open beta of our Interop product, share their feedback, while also engage in the community chats.

  • Throughout September, a range of DeFi opportunities on Persistence DEX were spotlighted, showcasing pools across both the Persistence chain and the Babylon genesis.

  • Persistence One COO, Jeroen Develter, shared the planned verticals in marketing and product to focus on each week of the month, keeping the community in the loop about what’s happening behind the scenes and what to expect next. Stay updated by following him on X.

  • The month wrapped up with new members joining our Telegram and Discord communities, exploring the product, and actively taking part in ongoing campaigns. Moving forward, the focus will shift toward enhancing the Interop product, streamlining incentive allocation, and progressing toward a unified V3, while continuing to align the broader ecosystem with BTCFi.

Media & Community

Here are some standout moments from the media and community front during September:

  • Persistence Intern shared funny, relatable memes highlighting the current state of Bitcoin, BTCfi, and the broader ecosystem.

  • Jeroen also highlighted that the existing BTCfi ecosystem is fragmented to the point that it is too complicated for end users to do more, and shared how intent-based swaps aim to simplify the cross-chain swapping experience.

  • Collectively, the community activities in September witnessed strong participation from over 10,720 members through quests and content creation.

          • Jeroen also emphasised that in terms of adoption, no ecosystem comes close to Bitcoin, and that many projects are now beginning to explore opportunities in BTCFi.

            XPRT Governance & Token Highlights

Here are some of the most important governance updates around XPRT from September 2025:

            • Proposal #145 was passed to upgrade the Persistence codebase to software tag v13.0.0, incorporating updates to cosmos-sdk v0.50.14-lsm, ibc-go v10.1.1, wasmd v0.55.1, wasmvm v2.2.4, and related libraries. This upgrade prepares persistenceCore for alignment with cosmos-sdk v0.53.x, as support for v0.47.x is nearing end-of-life.

            • Proposal #146 was passed to incentivise Persistence DEX pools with stkXPRT incentives for October 2025.

            About Persistence One

Persistence One is building the BTCFi Liquidity Hub, enabling fast, near-zero-slippage swaps for BTC, BTC-variants, and LSTs on Persistence DEX.

BTCFi’s rapid growth has created multiple BTC-related assets, making fragmentation a big challenge. Persistence One will provide a single liquidity hub, simplifying value transfer across the Bitcoin ecosystem.
