Persistence August 2025 Update

In August, we wrapped up the Persistence DEX V2 testnet campaign, with participants claiming rewards as the product opened to the wider BTCFi community and much more.

August marked steady progress across the Persistence ecosystem. A key highlight was Persistence DEX V2, where the testnet campaign concluded and participants claimed rewards as the product opened to the wider BTCFi community, paving the way for broader adoption.

Throughout the month, content and activities kept the community engaged, alongside regular updates from Persistence One COO Jeroen Develter on X.

At the same time, Cede Hub, a popular trading platform, reignited excitement by resuming XPRT trading competition with KuCoin, driving fresh energy and strong participation from both seasoned traders and the Persistence community.

Keep reading to catch up on everything that unfolded in August.

Persistence One Highlights

  • In August, a popular trading platform, Cede Hub, partnered with KuCoin to relaunch the XPRT trading competition, running until August 27, which brought fresh energy and strong participation from both seasoned traders and the Persistence community.

  • Throughout August, a range of DeFi opportunities on Persistence DEX were spotlighted, showcasing live pools across both the Persistence chain and Babylon genesis.

  • Inspired by a community member, we shared a graphic illustrating how cross-chain swaps for BTCFi could look in an ideal scenario.

  • Midway through August, after multiple testnet rounds and a closed beta-mainnet, claims opened for participants and ran until August 25, 2025. At the same time, the product was made available to the broader BTCFi community, allowing more users to try it out with limited swap amounts.

  • To wrap up the Interop campaign, an infographic summarising the journey so far, following the announcement of claims going live, was shared by us.

  • We also highlighted the simplicity of the claim process, showing how participants could complete it in under a minute by linking their EVM and Persistence addresses to check staking multipliers and enable reward distribution.

  • We also shared an infographic and a supporting blog to remind the community about the ongoing trading contest organised by Cede Hub and to guide participants further.

  • Later, a follow-up reminder for the community was published to try Persistence DEX V2, our intent-based Bitcoin swapping solution, now open to everyone across BTCFi and beyond. It is live on Base and BNB Chain, with claims also available for testnet participants.

  • Towards the end of August, the Interop campaign was officially wrapped up, with rewards distributed based on claims from all participants. Following this, we published a blog outlining the flow of events from the very beginning, detailing eligibility and the calculation process.

  • To keep the momentum going, quest campaigns were resumed, beginning with the first one, encouraging the community to continue trying out the Bitcoin cross-chain swaps product.

  • With the product now battle-tested and the foundations set for Persistence DEX V2, supported strongly by the BTCFi community and Persisters, this is only the beginning. As Persistence One continues to expand its role in BTCFi, community participation will remain at the heart of everything we build. Stay tuned for what’s next.

Media & Community

Here are some standout moments from the media and community front during August:

  • Persistence One COO, Jeroen Develter, outlined weekly priorities throughout August on X. Be sure to follow him to stay ahead and catch alpha early.

  • A community-created graphic highlighting the gist of Bitcoin cross-chain swaps was shared shortly after the closed beta wrapped up on July 31.

  • Jeroen also emphasised how fragmentation in the current BTCFi landscape is limiting broader Bitcoin DeFi adoption, and how our Interop product is positioned to solve it.

  • Midway through the month, Persistence One COO Jeroen Develter opened a forum discussion on allocating 1M XPRT for Persistence DEX and Interop incentives, which saw active participation and valuable input from the community.

  • Jeroen also outlined the advantages of an intent-based bridge over traditional bridging and AMM-based swaps, explaining how it enables faster, more seamless transactions while reducing the risk of honeypot attacks.

XPRT Governance & Token Highlights

Here are some of the most important governance updates around XPRT from August 2025:

  • Proposal #143 was passed to allocate 1,000,000 XPRT from the community pool towards ecosystem incentives over the next six months. The budget will help maintain strong DEX liquidity and drive adoption campaigns for Bitcoin interoperability, ensuring rewards are deployed where they create the greatest impact.

  • Proposal #144 was passed to provide stkXPRT incentives for 30 days, beginning once the current incentive cycle for the respective pools concludes in September 2025.

About Persistence One

Persistence One is building the BTCFi Liquidity Hub, enabling fast, near-zero-slippage swaps for BTC, BTC-variants, and LSTs on Persistence DEX.
