Persistence December 2025 Update

Happy New Year!

December is usually a slower stretch as people unplug and the space quiets down. Even with that backdrop, we continued to push forward with meaningful updates, from rolling out a core piece of the interoperability product to laying groundwork that will shape what comes next.

We also shared our outlook for 2026, giving the community a clearer view of where we are headed and how everything connects.

Our focus is on creating a reliable, fast cross-chain swap experience for BTCfi users, with every step bringing us closer to the vision we are building toward.

Keep reading to catch up on everything that unfolded in December.

Persistence One Highlights

  • The month began with the team focused on delivering the first version of the beta mainnet, initially live across Base and BNB Chain with a smaller swap limit per order, built from the ground up with feedback from users and our close community in mind.

  • The beta mainnet features a leaderboard that lets users track their rank in real time, along with their estimated rewards for the ongoing epoch. It also displays any applicable reward multipliers for new and existing XPRT stakers, as well as the time remaining until the current epoch ends. We broke this down in detail in our step-by-step guide.

  • Subsequently, with the coin type migration from 750 to 118 approaching its deadline, we continued to remind users throughout the month to complete it before 31 December 2025 so that their assets remain supported seamlessly across wallets and interfaces in the ecosystem.

  • As the year-end approached, we shared a brief highlight of the industry-wide trends we observed, along with a forward-looking roadmap for 2026. It focuses on large-scale user acquisition, expansion to more networks, B2B integrations, and more. You can read the 2026 Roadmap article here.

  • To keep users informed about the tech behind Persistence DEX V2, our interoperability product, we continued publishing long-form content and infographics throughout the month. These broke down how intent-based swaps work and how they significantly improve the BTCfi user experience.

  • The swap limit per order was increased shortly after the initial announcement. This aligns with the updates we plan to keep rolling out to make the user experience smoother over time.

  • The BABY/USDC pool on Persistence DEX was also announced in December, supporting our broader mission to reduce fragmentation across BTC variants and BTC-related assets.

  • December 2025 wrapped up with more than 20,000 USD in volume moved across the two networks in the beta mainnet, along with close to 1M XPRT staked by participants.

We’re grateful to everyone who has engaged with the product so far, and we wish everyone a great start to the new year. Keep reading for the other key highlights.

Media & Community

Here are some standout moments from the media and community front during December:

  • Keeping the momentum going, we announced multiple quest campaigns through December to help new users discover the beta mainnet, try it out, and share their feedback.

  • Persisters shared their experience with the product within their communities and helped create more visibility around it.
  • Jeroen continued through the month to highlight the use cases of seamless cross-chain Bitcoin swaps and how they can unlock new opportunities for both users and developers across the ecosystem, while also sharing his perspectives along the way.

XPRT Governance & Token Highlights

December did not see any new governance proposals move to voting or completion, as conversations largely focused on preparing priorities for the months ahead.
